Dreams come true (well, some)
Sony QRIO (also check the flash version of the site, the pictures are amazing) is just what I wanted since I've memmory of the word robot. The ninja styled body, the three cameras, the wireless networking support and the autonomous behavior control architecture. After googling for it's price, I found Availability: Prototype.

It's the fact of buying a robot what makes me think this: a robot that I'll treat like a man, buying him, sounds like slavery.
With the dog (AIBO), this was not an issue, because some people actually buy dogs without any moral complains.

Also have in mind the posibilities that result of combining wireless networking with a bipedal all purpose robot. You can use them combined with a computer to scan your house for lost things, as surveliance robot cameras, you might configure them to use their voice synthesizer to answer the phone and the door. It's amazing. This robot will give a new vision of what a true robot means, the becoming of an all-in-one device, with full integration of all other artifacts.

This robot combines the features of a digital camera, a laptop, and a mobile phone. And returning to the price, lets figure some numbers, AIBO (the dog) actually costs between ~600 to ~1500 USD. So QRIO won't be cheap. Will I live enough to see the future?.
